Counting how many days are left until Christmas Day?

I do this every morning as I walk through the doors of The Pearl Restaurant. The lights on the windows, the soft music and the smiles from our team remind me that we’re getting closer to the most joyful day of the year. And this year, we’ve added something new to our Christmas day menu already.

At The Pearl, I’ve seen many Christmas Days here. Every year, families come in with their warm coats, carrying gifts, children’s laughter filling the air and parents hoping to enjoy a peaceful meal without the stress of cooking at home. That’s why we put a lot of care into making Christmas Day special for everyone who chooses to spend it with us.

So let me take you through what we’re offering this Christmas Day 2025 and I’ll also share a little bit of what it feels like inside the restaurant on that day.

Start Your Lunch or Dinner with Starters

Every Christmas, the starters are where the room suddenly becomes lively. Once the dishes land on the tables, people start talking more, laughing more, and the excitement kicks in.

You would be surprised how many children go straight for chicken pakora because it’s crunchy and fun. Parents often choose chicken tikka, which has been one of our most loved items throughout the year. Grandparents usually take something warm and comforting like masala fish or lamb chops.

We kept vegetarians in mind too. The onion bhaji and garlic mushrooms are always a hit with those who want something simple but tasty.

And then there's the prawn cocktail and a little nod to the classic Christmas starters people remember from their childhood.

The starter section of the Christmas day menu may look ordinary at first, but each dish has its own story. I’ve seen families ask for the same starters every year because it reminds them of their first Christmas visit to The Pearl. Small things like this are what make Christmas feel warm.

Enjoy Main Course Items

The main course is where Christmas Day slows down in the best way possible.

Some families pick items from the A La Carte menu because they already have favourites. We have regular guests who love sticking to their usual curry with rice or naan, even on Christmas. And honestly, there’s something sweet about that familiarity.

But the real highlight of the day is the Christmas roast. It comes with:

  • Soft, tender roast chicken

  • Warm seasoned vegetables

  • Golden roast potatoes

  • A fluffy Yorkshire pudding

  • Homemade gravy that spreads beautifully over the plate

When I carry these plates out, I always see smiles. The roast reminds people of family Christmases from the past. I once heard someone say, “This tastes like something my mum made when I was little.” Moments like that stay with me.

Serving this part of the Christmas day dinner feels like sharing a tradition, not just serving food.

Don’t Ignore the Appetiser Special Items

It may sound unusual to highlight poppadoms, but trust me - on Christmas Day, they play a bigger role than you would think.

Our poppadoms served with chutney are the very first item that arrives on the table. Kids grab them quickly, parents nibble on them while talking, and they usually finish them before the starters even arrive.

People often ask for more, and we happily bring them. It’s simple, light, and a nice way to start the festive meal without feeling too full.

Many guests who come every year joke that Christmas wouldn’t feel complete without “The Pearl poppadom round.”

It’s a small part of the Christmas day menu but it creates a comfortable start to the meal.

Dessert Items for Kids

Dessert time is always the noisiest and happiest part of Christmas Day at The Pearl.

The children know it’s coming—even before we bring it out. When they see the plates, their eyes widen.

This year, our dessert table includes:

  • Cornflake tart – The kind many adults remember from their school days.

  • Chocolate gateau – A favourite for kids and honestly for grown-ups too.

  • Christmas pudding – For families who want to keep the classic feeling alive.

By the time dessert arrives, families have usually relaxed into long conversations. Some start taking group photos. Others talk about their holiday plans. Kids compare their dessert plates and sometimes swap bites with each other.

Every dessert plate we bring out feels like the final cheerful moment of the meal.

Learn About the Food Items and Menu at The Pearl

If you’ve never visited The Pearl before, let me share a little about our approach so you understand the heart behind our food.

Our menu is built with care, using dishes people enjoy all year round. Whether you choose a curry, a grill item or the Christmas roast, we try to keep everything warm, comforting, and easy to enjoy. We’ve always aimed to make our food feel homely, not fancy, not complicated, just good and satisfying.

We also pay attention to children’s choices, vegetarian needs, and guests who prefer mild dishes. Especially on Christmas Day, we want families to feel safe choosing anything from the menu.

If you look around The Pearl on a normal day, you’ll notice families, office groups, couples, and regular customers who’ve been with us for years. Christmas Day takes all that and makes it even more special. The lights are brighter, the room becomes warmer, and every table feels like a chapter of someone’s holiday story.

Celebrate Your Christmas Meal at The Pearl

Christmas Day at The Pearl is full of cool ambience and atmosphere.

The moment guests walk in, they see the decorations, the Christmas tree, and the warm faces of our team. Kids often run toward the tree to take pictures while parents look around the room with relief, knowing they don’t have to spend hours cooking at home.

The place fills with soft holiday music, quiet conversations and that cosy winter feeling. Every year, I watch families make memories that stay with them long after the holiday ends.

And honestly, that’s what makes this day special for us too.As a team, we don’t see Christmas as a regular working day. We see it as a chance to give our guests a day without stress, a day filled with good food and a day where everyone feels welcomed.

This Christmas Day 2025, our team is ready again with a thoughtful Christmas day menu, new items, warm hospitality and a festive setting that makes the whole restaurant feel like home.

If you’re thinking about where to enjoy your Christmas day lunch or dinner this year, we would be happy to welcome you to The Pearl.Let us take care of the cooking while you enjoy the day with the people you love.
